“Pilot” is the debut project from The Media, a band with a knack for blending ambition and creativity into their music. The Band Behind the Music

Formed in September 2023, The Media is the brainchild of Dean and Mike, whose shared love for “made-up chords” and a disregard for traditional musical keys laid the groundwork for the band’s unique style. Rob, the fiercely driven and impeccably organized drummer, brought rhythm and focus to the mix. Finally, Jeremy, the quiet but masterful bassist, completed the lineup with his infectious, seemingly effortless bass lines. Together, they’ve created something fresh and compelling.

The Making of “Pilot”

Over nine months, “Pilot” was recorded and mastered in the homes of each band member. This DIY approach adds a personal touch to the EP, which tells stories of social inequity, human insignificance, anxiety, and lost friendships. The music itself is an interplay of noise, drone, driving rhythms, and melodic vocals, creating tension and release that lingers with the listener.

Release and Live Performance

“Pilot” will be available digitally starting January 17, 2025. To celebrate the release, The Media will perform live at Ric’s Bar on March 29, 2025.
