The Making of ‘Don’t Wanna Be Saved’: A Glimpse into HFAV’s Creative Process

British singer, songwriter, and producer HFAV has been making waves in the music scene, particularly with his latest release, ‘Don’t Wanna Be Saved’. This song, part of his debut album, showcases the talent and creativity of this aspiring young artist, who, at just 17 years old, has already written, produced, and released 15 tracks.

‘Don’t Wanna Be Saved’ is a unique blend of metaphor and melody, drawing inspiration from an unexpected source—a zombie apocalypse. The song tells the story of a relationship where one person refuses help until they are truly struggling, yet there is only one person from whom they would accept it. The haunting imagery of a zombie apocalypse serves as a metaphor for the emotional and psychological turmoil within the relationship, highlighting the theme of selective vulnerability.

HFAV initially composed the single as an instrumental track in January 2024. However, he found himself at a creative standstill, unsure of how to finish it. It wasn’t until a casual conversation with a friend in early February, who expressed their love for the TV show ‘The Walking Dead’, that inspiration struck. This sparked the idea for the song’s lyrics and melody.

“Inspiration is a funny thing because it can strike at any time. If you had told me that I would be able to finish writing a song because my friend was waffling on about ‘The Walking Dead’, I honestly never would have believed you. I guess it just goes to show that any experience you have in life could be turned into a song,” HFAV shared.

This anecdote highlights HFAV’s ability to draw from everyday experiences and transform them into music that resonates with his listeners. His talent for storytelling and his knack for blending contemporary themes with emotive soundscapes make him a rising star to watch in the music industry.
