Andy Martin has a remarkable gift for transforming heartfelt songwriting into catchy indie-pop anthems, and his newest track is no exception. Set to release on Wednesday, October 9th, Andy’s latest single, Exactly Where I’m Supposed to Be,promises to deliver yet another engaging sonic experience.
2024 has been a breakout year for Andy. He has toured with acts like The Rubens, Ben Lee, and The Vanns, and even participated in a mentorship program led by Angus & Julia Stone. Riding high from these achievements, Andy entered the studio with longtime collaborator and ARIA Award-winning producer Aidan Hogg (known for work with G Flip, Hope D, and Asha Jefferies). Together, they crafted Exactly Where I’m Supposed to Be at Brisbane’s renowned Plutonium Studios, a place known for producing music by Tame Impala, Hatchie, and WAAX. The final polish was added by Brock Weston, the Brisbane mastering expert behind projects by BUGS, Eliza & The Delusionals, and Beddy Rays.
“Exactly Where I’m Supposed to Be kind of feels like my coming-of-age track. The song is very personal, touching on various internal struggles I’ve faced over the past few years. Life is not linear, so embracing the good, the bad, and the ugly, is what makes us who we are. It felt so cathartic building this world with Aidan, and I’m really happy with the end result! Right here, right now, is Exactly Where I’m Supposed to Be.”
This upcoming release follows the success of singles I Don’t Wanna Go Out and Toothaches, both of which received editorial playlisting and airplay on Triple J and Triple M. Andy’s debut album Reverie, released in late 2022, gained praise from media outlets like Music Feeds, The AU Review, and The Australian Music Scene, amassing over 1 million streams across digital platforms.
With Exactly Where I’m Supposed to Be, Andy Martin continues to deliver the catchy, introspective sound that has won him fans across Australia and beyond.
